THE BIRD
L’Ocell is a duo made up of Àlex Reviriego (double bass) and Fernando Carrasco (acoustic guitar). His music, freely improvised, seeks a sonority close to what we could call acoustic noise, modeling drones and primitive and cathartic soundscapes. Passages of dark beauty, with reminiscences of psych folk and old music, are interrupted and violated by abrupt appearances of metallic sounds, chaotic percussion and amorphous noises. The oases of harmony are degraded and destroyed like a building abandoned to the relentless effects of time and nature. They have published three albums, “L’Ocell” (Absent Tapes, 2018), “Absents” (Zona Watusa, 2020) and “El Declivi” (Tripticks Tapes, 2022), the latter with Ferran Fages as guest.

KAZUMI SAKODA (Japan)
Kazumi Sakoda is a curious artist who investigates the differences she finds between the soundscapes of her native Tokyo and Barcelona. His music is composed with the cassette tapes of the sounds he picks up on the streets of Barcelona. The urban sounds are reproduced musically with the melody created on a sampling keyboard and the tapes on loop. Enjoy your audio diary. Later in 2023 Zona Watusa will release its exclusive tape album “Sampling Barcelona Ⅱ二”.
