Festival MIXTUR: Ensemble Suono Giallo
Fragile and unstable sounds, interference, lo-fi electronics blurred by transducers and filtered by instruments. This program, built on several new commissions together with repertoire pieces, explores the full range of expressive possibilities that this unusual combination of instruments offers. The program wants to offer a sound journey that presents the combination of sensations, formulating a rich experience and giving multiple perspectives of contemporary music. Ensemble Suono Giallo was formed in Città di Castello in 2015 as part of the celebrations in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the painter Alberto Burri. The collective has played in renowned festivals and cycles in Italy and abroad, and has premiered numerous works dedicated to and written for him. Since 2016, Ensemble Suono Giallo has participated as a resident ensemble in the International ilSUONO Contemporary Music Week, a summer composition academy held every year in Città di Castello, Italy.
