LEM : RADIO INTERNAZIONALE

Radio Internazionale is a group founded in the first half of the nineties. Its concept is based on the idea of ​​the nostalgia of epistolary sound art, inspired by the distant background noise of letters from the audience, grotesque and full of nostalgia for the dark world of 19th century novels. Programmatically, the radio makes reference, in its visual and sound aspect, to the cut-up technique, with text playing an important role, which structures everything.

The arrangement of sounds is constructed from found artefacts originating from various periods, and formally enters the tradition of aleatory composition. The noises of classical futurism are mixed with a pathological and desperate need to write, through collages of everyday sounds with a self-aware pathos of voices, found images and concrete poetry in an extensive but perversely exaggerated form.

The invention and combination of techniques allows the musician to know the painter and the painter to know the poet. What remains is video poetry full of cynicism, a pastiche of itself, where rhyme and rhythm, repetition and chance, create a new context for the “dissolution of meaning.”
