LEM: ANA ARENAS & SANTI LÓPEZ
Sevillian dancer Ana Arenas studied flamenco, drinking in the tradition. From percussion work in dance, his style evolved into free improvisation and sound art, collaborating with musicians and artists of various genres from the contemporary and experimental scene, creating performative pieces.
Her work has been present at festivals throughout the State, and she combines her career as an artist and creator with a long career in the field of teaching about flamenco art, in addition to being an artistic director and producer of cycles of experimental music.
For his part, Santiago López has built a work mainly around sound installations. He brings together the wisdom of the trade of industrial maintenance and the sculptural work of metal with anti-artistic proposals from punk culture and also with conceptual approaches.
As a researcher, he has focused on the creation of metal idiophones, musical instruments that use their own body as a sounding board, from everyday objects or extended long strings, which they amplify using piezoelectric microphones.
