Volâtil #4
In this edition we will have a double bill with the following performances:
1/ Isabel Latorre [Accordion solo + electronics, Valencia]
Practice improvisation around the theories of ‘Deep listening’ developed by Pauline
Oliveros, understanding it as a personal activity that can increase awareness
about the sound and the space where it is projected. The accordion allows you to play very long notes and
extremes in register, which make everything around them vibrate, making the experience
become almost a meditation, an intimate symbiosis with sound. In this field, he published a
of his improvisations, together with a creation by Edu Comelles, within the recording project
‘For Pauline’ with the Portuguese label Crónica Electrónica. His music for film also stands out.
theater and concert, with various awards and recognitions.
2/ Vasco Trilla [percussion] | Àlex Reviriego [electronics] | Fernando Carrasco [electric guitar]
These three musicians center their activity around improvisation, being some of the most
highlights of the Barcelona scene. From timbral exploration they generate liquid textures
constantly changing, drones, ritual rhythms and hypnotic landscapes, making use of sound material
reminiscent of doom, ambient or folk. They were ¾ parts of Völga and are part of various
projects like Phicus or L’Ocell. This time they are presented in a new format, with Àlex
Reviriego making use of electronics, instead of his usual double bass.
