The Albareda Cultural Centre, in the Poble Sec neighborhood (Barcelona), will host on Saturday the 15th
\nin April at 7 p.m. a double tribute concert to Marianne Brull,
\npassionate about improvised music, cultural agitator and weekly concert programmer,
\nwho died in Barcelona on March 8 at the age of 87.<\/p>\n
Under the title of “Marianne, the free woman”, two of Brull’s favorite trios will perform: the
\nLiquid Trio, formed by Agust\u00ed Fern\u00e1ndez (piano), Albert Cirera (saxes) and Ramon
\nPrats (drums), who dedicated the album “Marianne” to him in 2016. The Trio will also participate
\nMars, integrated by Jordina Mill\u00e0 (piano), N\u00faria Andorr\u00e0 (percussion) and S\u00f2nia S\u00e1nchez
\n(dance). The concert is organized by the Club de Jazz podcast (www.patreon.com\/clubdejazzradio).
\nTickets can be reserved from Monday 27 March on the CC Albareda website.
\nIt will cost \u20ac7 (\u20ac3 for Jazz Club subscribers), which must be paid in cash
\nthe day of the concert. The proceeds will be used to cover the costs of the concert production
\n(rental of the piano, travel of artists, etc.). All musicians will perform in style
\nselfless as a tribute to Marianne Brull.
\nMarianne Brull (1935-2023)
\nMarianne Brull discovered free improvised music at a concert in the summer of 1998 and
\nsince then she became a loyal fan and a tireless promoter. That
\nperformance, organized by the pianist Agust\u00ed Fern\u00e1ndez in tribute to the anarchist Buenaventura
\nDurruti, was an enlightenment for this woman, born in Wald, Switzerland, on April 5, 1935.<\/p>\n
Before settling in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bMarianne Brull lived in Paris from the late 1950s, where she
\nget in touch with the Spanish exile. There he established a relationship with Pepe Mart\u00ednez, one of the
\nfounders of the publishing house Ruedo Ib\u00e9rico, with whom they printed books and articles prohibited by the
\nFranco’s dictatorship, to then introduce them clandestinely into Spain. Brull’s house is gone
\nbecome the meeting point for the publishers, to which he dedicated his time
\ncomplete until its closure, after the end of the dictatorship.
